The craftsmen that construct 'Oakwood Barns' use hand selected timber, and believe that 'Oakwood Barns' has one of the finest ranges of car barns and outbuildings in Europe.

 

All our buildings are designed to withstand the rigours of both time and the British weather. Although entirely traditional jointing methods are used, the design is the result of rigorous modern structural stress calculations.

 

The upright supports are 7" x 7" solid English Oak. The eve beams are 8" x 8" and are in one full length and together with the hand cut corner braces add strength while enhancing the overall appearance.

 

We can panel the elevations with softwood weatherboarding that can then be treated by staining; we also offer 8" oak weatherboarding.

 

The roof is finished off with the plain red or dark tiles which are so familiar to the south of England. The roofs are gable to gable as standard but we can build the barn with full hip or ¼ barn hip at additional cost.
